I feel a connection with this band, especially their lead singer Troy who works in Loss Prevention, as have I. That alone should make me like All Wound Up's debut album Hero. However this is a punk album, which makes it blend in with almost everything else on the market.
The CD opens with your basic punk song followed by "Any Other Way" which highlights the heavy guitars by Jeremy, their lead guitarist. The vocals are decent except for when they try to harmonize with each other -- which doesn't work in most punk songs. The fourth song, "Now or Never" features a nice set of vocals and slower music, but then it picks up again with the fifth track with some good guitar riffs.
"Seven Thirty" opens up different than the previous offerings. It features some great guitars and good vocals, but leads into "Bittersweet," which sounds like it has the same guitar chord progression, only louder. "On My Own" opens like it has some promise, but a minute into the song it decides to go in a different direction until two and a half minutes into the song it gets back on track.
Overall I'd say the CD is good. The only problem is the attempts at harmonizing and the fact that the band doesn't really offer anything new on the album. For a debut album it's not bad and they're only likely to get better with time. Look out for these guys in the not so near future.
