“My parents had a really difficult time letting go of me. When they met Jeremy, my future husband, they were crazy about him. But after I told them we’d been talking about marriage, they turned cold on me; it was like, ‘You’re not ready. We think you should wait,’ even though I was 24 when they shut him off. Finally, Jeremy just told them, ‘I’m proposing to her tomorrow at noon.
