Beautiful Lumps of Coal cover
12. Go
Album: Beautiful Lumps of Coal
Artist: Plumb

Hold on, you said
and I held on.
Lay down, your sweet head
and I laid it down.

I'd say, 'tell me all you have seen'.
And you gave of your life, to bring out my dreams.
And I need hope, and faith, and the goodness of grace.
And I need you to let me
go my way

Time passed, things changed
Now i'm grown.
I'll hold his hand, we'll grow old.

We'll need hope, and faith, and the goodness of grace.
We'll need you to let us,
Go our way

You taught me so much
And you live in my eyes
I carry your blood, inside.
That will never change, no no.
no no
woah yeah

Hope and faith
and the goodness of grace.
I'll need you to let me
go my way

Behind the Song:
“My parents had a really difficult time letting go of me. When they met Jeremy, my future husband, they were crazy about him. But after I told them we’d been talking about marriage, they turned cold on me; it was like, ‘You’re not ready. We think you should wait,’ even though I was 24 when they shut him off. Finally, Jeremy just told them, ‘I’m proposing to her tomorrow at noon. When she calls here and tells you we’re engaged, I want you to be excited and to be a part of this… but that’s up to you.’ And just like that, they warmed up to him. In fact, my dad spoke at our wedding and made sure everyone knew how much he loves Jeremy and blesses this marriage. But it was a very trying time before we got to that point, until we realized that they’re not in charge anymore. It was only when we said ‘We’re going to do this,’ and made them understand that they had to let go, that it turned into something beautiful.” – Tiffany Arbuckle Lee (Plumb)
