Blanca's 2023 Christmas release is an exciting addition to the holiday music scene. "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Joy)" brings a fresh twist to a classic tune with Blanca's powerful vocals backed by a full choir. The title already hints at the uplifting and joyful spirit of the song, which is perfect for getting into the holiday mood.
I appreciate that Blanca has also released the Spanish version of the song, featuring Alex Campos, as this version had been released last year as a stand alone Amazon exclusive. The blend of the English and Spanish versions added a touch of Latin flavor to this yuletide classic. It's always wonderful to see artists embrace different languages and cultures, especially during the holiday season when music brings people from all walks of life together.
Blanca's involvement in arranging the song, along with Michael Farren and Robin Ghosh, shows her dedication to crafting a unique rendition of this classic hymn. The track showcases the excellent production work of Robin Ghosh.
The collaboration with Alex Campos is a fantastic idea, as the Three-time Latin GRAMMY® winner Alex Campos adds his own style and flair to "Gozo Y Paz (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen)," creating a fusion of Latin and Christmas vibes that is sure to resonate with a wider audience. Blanca's vocal control and the choir's backing vocals make this adaptation stand out, emphasizing the incomprehensible joy that Christmas represents.
In summary, Blanca's 2-version Christmas release for 2023 is a must-listen for those looking to infuse their holiday playlist with both traditional and contemporary elements. With her commanding vocals, choral backing, and the Spanish collaboration with Alex Campos, "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Joy)" and "Gozo Y Paz (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen) [feat. Alex Campos]" are poised to spread joy and warmth during the festive season. It's truly a delightful addition to the world of Christmas music, offering something special for everyone.
