At the time that Come Now Sleep released, As Cities Burn's debut album, Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest, was probably my favorite album. So my anticipation was pretty high for whatever they would do next. I don't know what I was expecting, but I can tell you that it was not Come Now Sleep. A decade later, however, I think that's my favorite thing about it. It's so radically different from their debut that it's hard to even compare the two. For years, I enjoyed it for what it was: a solid follow-up to (what I considered) a perfect album. But as time has gone on and I've gotten older, I find myself revisiting Come Now Sleep much more than SILYAYD. I think Come Now Sleep has aged well and, for my money, it's one of the very best albums Tooth & Nail has ever released.
