#14. Blindside
untitled
Release Date: Sometime '08
 |
Blindside made our list last year as we looked forward to the band's latest artistic venture - and as I looked
forward to some kind of redemption for The Great Depression. The Black Rose EP came over the
Summer and while it seemed like a mix of the dissonance of Depression and the brilliance of their
earlier work, it showed a glimmer of hope for the future. Now all we have to do is wait for the band to finish their next
full-length and decide the best way to release it sometime this year...

I don't care what anyone says about The Great Depression, there is no such thing as a bad Blindside album.
These guys put out some of the best music of all time and I can't wait to hear what the boys from Sweden bring next.
If this album comes anywhere close to being as good as Silence or About A Burning Fire, it will
have instant classic written all over it.

Last year's Black Rose EP was an excellent prelude to the long awaited new full-length record
from Blindside and I'm hoping that this sixth project from the energetic Swedish rockers will be an
especially memorable one.
