JesusfreakHideout.com: Highlighting 2015 Part One -- Looking Ahead To New Music In The First Half of 2015

For our 9th annual Highlighting feature, we split the year into TWO pieces -- January to June and July to December. Each list contains 15 artists/releases for a total of 30 in total for 2015. So, without further ado, we give you Highlighting First-Half 2015!

#13. NYVES
Anxiety

Release Date: March 2015

When two legends of Christian rock come together for a new musical endeavor that doesn't sound anything like any of their previous work...well, who knows if it'll be good or bad. The singles that NYVES has already released are sounding pretty good, so Anxiety has a lot of potential.

NYVES is an intriguing partnership between Demon Hunter's Ryan Clark and Project 86 alumnus Randy Torres. This experimental electronic side project raised a whopping $82,702 on Kickstarter, so expectations are high.

This sounds like something out of the imagination of a fan; the vocalist of Demon Hunter and the longtime guitarist of Project 86 teaming up for an electronic-based project? What isn't intriguing about that?

I am not a metal head, but I've been secretly digging some of Demon Hunter's music for years (especially their more melodic songs), and since my early college days I've had a soft spot for industrial and electronica music. NYVES sounds like a dream come true for my well-hidden inner goth kid.

Randy Torres is one of those people who continue to remain on the move with his creativity, collaborating with acts such as Falling Up, Anberlin, and TFK as well as working with the legendary artist and producer everyone loves, Aaron Sprinkle. Ryan Clark (lead singer and co-founder of Demon Hunter) is similarly a contributor amongst many Tooth and Nail / Solid State projects on the side. Having these two talented artists working together is a much welcomed experience this year.
