#8. Pillar
One Love Revolution
Release Date: August 18, 2015

It's finally looking like the long-delayed album is coming in February almost two years after it was first announced. As a big fan of Pillar's earlier releases of Fireproof and Where Do We Go From Here, and with the underwhelming Confessions being my last taste, I'm hoping for a strong comeback.

Pillar was band I enjoyed in my youth. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but the thought of these guys releasing another album makes me happy; it takes me back to a simpler time before jobs and bills. The only question I have is: will Pillar stick with the rock/rap and nu metal sound they started with, or will they bring something different than we've heard from them in the past? I honestly can't wait to find out.

While "Lion Leads the Way" wasn't the single I was hoping for after a five-year silence, One Love Revolution still has me hopeful for a strong return for these Christian rock veterans.

It's been seven years since the band's 'classic' lineup released an album. That's way too long. Now, together again, it's time to party like it's 1999. In their heyday, Pillar was one of the biggest stars of Christian rock music. They hope to recapture that magic with One Love Revolution.

My little brother's (who's now a former Marine) favorite band is back, and One Love Revolution sounds like a classic Pillar album title to me. And with the classic lineup back in tow, these rockers are going to rip it up like it's 2003 all over again.

Call it nostalgia, but until Pillar puts out something bad, I will always be excited to see what the next album sounds like. They've had a few mis-steps along the journey, but I'm still excited to see what this year's album brings.

I didn't really vote for Pillar for this list, but since they made the list, I can legitimately say that I am intrigued to hear what they have to offer now that the Fireproof lineup is back at it.
