Coming off of a phenominal (and lengthy) concept album, Attalus has gained much traction and popularity over the past two years. With the recent departure of frontman Seth Davey, it will be of great curiosity to see the direction in which the band will go upon entering an entirely new season.

With a debut album Into the Sea that can only be described as a rock n' roll epic, band Attalus has set the bar extremely high for their follow up. I’m insanely curious to find out what these guys have for us this time.

Into the Sea is an album I can’t listen to very often, because it almost demands that you listen to the entire thing in one sitting, and that can be a rather daunting task. But, if one has the time for it, it’s task worth undertaking. Attalus’ brand of indie rock is smart, well-written, and insanely good. Anything they put out will be a day-one purchase.

I’m definitely disappointed with Seth Davey’s departure as the lead vocalist for Attalus just when I was growing to love them, but I’m almost more excited for their newest because of it. Between the three albums the band has put out (seriously, both indie albums Post Tenebras Lux and Gospel Hymns, Vol. 1 are very good as well), I have learned that the band’s sound is very flexible and adaptable, and as challenging as a vocal change is, Attalus strikes me as a band who has all the tools to pull it off right.
