Mae is one of my all-time favorite bands. Many of us fell off the train after The Everglow, but the band's later releases (Singularly, (m)orning, (a)fternoon, and (e)vening) eventually became just as beloved to me. I'm now convinced that everything they release will be a favorite of mine...even if it takes a few years for the new album to "click."

Dave Elkins' solo work as Schematic was good, but the news of Mae's return brought a huge smile to my face. I can hardly wait for this album's completion and release. Expectations are huge, but I have faith they will be met.

I was a huge fan of Mae’s multi-sensory 2005 album The Everglow, but they got lost in the shuffle and I haven’t paid them any attention since. Remedying that mistake, I checked out recent song samples from their 2007 album Singularity, and 2017’s M)(A)(E) compilation and, as a result, it has me excited for what they’ll come up with next.

I don’t know if this is actually coming first half of 2018, but if it is, I welcome it. Mae is a warm presence in the indie/alternative scene that, whose absence has been sorely missed.

Contrary to most fans of the band, Singularity was actually the album that won me over to Mae. Always having been hesitant to consider myself a Mae fan, everytime I hear my favorite cuts from that album, it hits the sweet spot. I'm eager to find out where new music from these guys will go.

It's been more than 10 years since Mae’s last full-length album. Singularity saw some of the band's tightest songwriting and performances, particularly Dave Elkins’ emotive vocals. Though they’ve released a string of EPs, it’ll be refreshing to see another full-fledged project from these guys.
