Verse 1
sun soaked grass
dying upon the hill behind the house
neighborhood watches
as time stands still

And as the years pass
everyone feels the same
but that's alright
no one here is looking for fame

Chorus
Ages went by
and you never said a word
the pages they turned
but your silence was always heard

my home town
you'll never be forgotten- by me

Verse 2
children they laugh
playing wiffle in the lot behind my old Church
It looks decayed
I never thought leaving it would hurt

Aunt Rita still smiles
revealing wrinkles on the corners of her lips
and for the first time i feel my age
but aging, we can't skip

Verse 3
Here I sit
On Mom and dads back porch
Inside i can I hear them bless the meal
I bow my head, but I can’t feel it.

My brother still prays for me
thinking somehow God might give a damn
I feel alone
Cuz’ I just can’t buy into the Lamb

Last Chorus
My world it changed
but You always stay the same
the pages they turned
but that silence was always heard

In my hometown
I feel like I’m forgotten
In my hometown
I leave you behind
In my hometown
God won’t be forgotten.

So I’ll just go.
