Children playing in the park
Pick a child to keep apart
One group better than the other
How young we start to hurt our brother
One gang blue, another red, pretty soon a child is dead
Throwing stones, they’re throwing stones

Well dressed people in the pews
Come to hear revised good news
Smelly bum comes needing more
He gets the bums rush out the door
Use their rocks to make a screen, keeping out those who are unclean
Throwing stones, we’re throwing stones

Can I really love my neighbor, will we ever find each other?
Or are we forever doomed to throwing stones? (drum measure)
Though my doubts defy my trust
I believe you know I must
Take the rocks that once were weapons; use them to create foundations
Grind the stones to make cement; pulverize them for a pathway
Drop the stones. Stop throwing stones
