VERSE 1
Lord, in these first few moments past the hour I wake
Instill in me a sense of Thee in every breath I take
For these important moments set my daily pace
So may my focus be on You and on Your saving grace
As I say good morning, Lord, calling out to You
I ask you for Your guiding hand in everything I do
May I walk in servitude and may my prayers be heard
And may Your wisdom come to me while reading Your Word

VERSE 2
Father, I’m a sinner, so often do I stray
I don’t deserve forgiveness, but I claim it as I pray
Thank You for salvation purchased by Your Son
Who gave His life that I might live, and that Your will be done
I can’t help but marvel at this perfect gift
Unworthy mortal, one I am, my praise to Thee I lift
Teach me Your obedience and knowledge of Your ways
So I can be of use to You all my earthly days

CHORUS
And I know I need you Lord
Yes, I know I need you Lord
As the dawn is breaking and I kneel before Your throne
I ask You to be with me once again
If there’s one thing I have learned from all the years I’ve walked alone
I’ve come to know, I need you, Lord

VERSE 3
I want to be a blessing to all the lives I touch
I want Your Spirit’s guidance and the strength I need so much
All I have to give You is my body, soul, and mind
And as You work Your will in me, a sinner is refined
You give Your love so freely and endlessly bestow
The riches of Your kingdom, and to You, my life I owe
In Jesus’ name, I say amen, hear this prayer of mine
And work through me Your will today, the glory all be thine
