Heaven, what you waiting for, I’m standing outside of the pearly gates, just waiting for you to open up the door
I say Heaven, where have you been, I was hoping to just walk on in, but I’ve got to someone about some minor sins

Chorus
Now I’ve got to sit back and comb through my story, Gonna take a little time down in purgatory
Some inclinations need to be severed, If I’m gonna live forever
Gotta shake a lot of dust of these shoes, before I can get used to not singling the blues
Gotta purify all my layers, Then I get to go upstairs

Verse 2
Heaven. What you got inside, they said I get to find out sooner or later
After I kick a little habit that they call pride

Heaven, are the streets really gold? Is the Beatific Vision everything that I have been told?

Verse 3
Heaven, could it be enough, If I put all my desires aside,
And do small things with great love?
Heaven, may I meet the King?, My garment’s washed in the blood of the lamb, I’m now whole and humble, my soul’s been cleaned

Chorus
I’ve given an account for every line in my story, They said my time’s up here in purgatory
The gates open with a pull of the lever, I get to live forever
It’s like walking through the stars in a constellation, nothing I could ever fathom with my imagination
The Creator sure was clever, when He made forever
