Don’t bore me with platitudes

Don’t tell me there’s nothing to lose

Don’t try to tempt me with things I could use

Just don’t

Don’t claim that you’re with me in this

Don’t act like it’s water under the bridge

Don’t you come near with that Judas-kiss

Just don’t

Don’t say there’s nothing to worry about

Don’t patronize when I’m calling you out

Don’t you go filling my mind with doubt

When you come around it makes me want to shout,

Just don’t!

Don’t wait for my time of need

Don’t comfort me in my grief

Don’t you go telling me how I should be

Just don’t

Don’t push for a little more

Don’t explain what it’s all been for

Don’t you come over to settle the score

Just don’t

Don’t act like this is a big surprise

Don’t wear me down with those innocent eyes

Don’t you start playing all worldly wise

If you’re asking me, then honestly,

the biggest prize for me would be for you to

Just don’t
