Bring us love
You who are love
Bring us peace
You who are peace
We need love
Oh divine love
We need Your peace
Your merciful peace
Oh we need love
Oh divine love
We need peace
Your merciful peace
How gracefully You come along
How gracefully You come
Holy, holy, holy
God is near to each one of us
Glory, glory, glory
God is near to each one of us
Bring us love
You who are love
Bring us peace
You who are peace
We need love
Oh divine love
We need peace
Your merciful peace
Holy, holy, holy
God is near to each one of us
Glory, glory, glory
God is near to each one of us
Grant us reprieve from the fighting so we
Could just rest our heads on the shoulder
Of the one we’re at odds with
Grateful for the contact
And oh so glad
For a moments rest
Weeping, knowing we have been touched
Weeping, knowing we have been touched
We have been touched
Behind the Song:'This is another song that both promotes the modern sounding dance vibe first heard in The Nearness, but also harkens back to the rich tapestry of church music, using an ancient Chinese prayer book as its lyrical source material. The biggest left turn this song takes, though, is the dirge-like pirate breakdown in the middle. Both eerie and beautiful, it rightly sets up the musical section that follows and final, triumphant chorus. While fun to listen to, the coda at the end (including the mysterious vocal saying, “In the Space age, nothing is impossible…”) brings us back to a central question that really is one of the prominent themes of the record, namely, is there any musical form that cannot be church music?' - David Crowder
