I hear the rumors of another world
Like distant voices in the wind
They say there is a story being told
Bigger than I can comprehend
And in the rumors I can hear an invitation calling
This is the big story
There is a God who’s in control
Telling the big story
And he wants us to know
We will find ourselves
When we loose ourselves
In the bigger story
Come and take your place in the story
We all live in this place called the here and now
We see what’s right before our eyes
But right here right now heaven’s coming down
All around
God’s story is coming alive
And in this moment if we listen
We can hear him calling
This is the big story
There is a God who’s in control
Telling the big story
And he wants us to know
We will find ourselves
When we loose ourselves
In the bigger story
Come and take your place in the story
Captivating, fascinating, all consuming
Never concluding
One and only
Ever unfolding
Story of stories
The big, big story
This is the big story
There is a God who’s in control
Telling the big story
And he wants us to know
We will find ourselves
When we loose ourselves
In the bigger story
Come and take your place
Come and take your place
Come and take your place in the story

Behind the Song:'“Big Story” is one that I can go on and on about, but for the sake of time I will just say that this one explains itself. I wanted a song that captured the idea of how much bigger I think the story God is telling is, than sometimes I even realize. Rather than wanting to ask God to bless me and my little story and my little life, I want more to be part of the big story that God is telling and find out how I can be a part of what He is doing. Sometimes that is taking me to China; sometimes that is taking me to the jungles of Ecuador. Over the years it has taken me to a lot of different places- prisons, even death row cell blocks, and that is where a lot of my music comes out of, just trying to find where God’s big story is happening. One of the things about making this song is that I wrote it about 15 different times. When you see something as big and as grand as God’s story, you want the music to match it. See if you can get all the lyrics and if you get them all then you win the prize. I am not sure what the prize will be, but you will be the winner.' -
