here in this moment
this unspoken moment
I can feel You at work
I can feel You at work
I took forever to notice
but now that I notice
Your voice is the word
Your voice is the word
cause only in the silence
I can hear
only in the silence
I can hear
You speak clear to me
it’s so clear to me
only in the silence
I confess
only in the silence
manifest
You speak clear to me- so clear to me
I'm in a constant awareness
a constant awareness
a hyper vigilant mode
a hyper vigilant mode
I lost myself in the moment
and now that I know it
Your voice is the word
Your voice is the word
only in the silence
can I hear
only in the silence
can I hear
You speak clear to me
it’s so clear to me
only in the silence
I confess
only in the silence
manifest
You speak clear to me- so clear to me
cause when You speak
I am at rest
fears subside
clouds roll back
and like a child
oh my God
I hold on to You

Behind the Song:Another experiment that I am trying to perfect in my writing process is the aspect of space within a track. The more you add to a song musically and instrumentally, the less space and or groove a song will have. By doing away with things that do not matter, you get to the heart of the vibe and the feel of the melody. When writing ‘Clear’ with Jeff Pardo in East Nashville, I brought him a recording of me singing the melody, and also a bass line that I had sung into my iTalk recorder. It might sound strange to start writing a song based off of a bass guitar line, but in this case it proved correct. This again shows the influences of my 80's New Wave self. In the vein of Duran Duran or Roxy Music, ‘Clear’ is definitely one of my favorite songs on the album. It’s also very much my blueprint within music - mixing those 80's sensibilities with honest lyrics. -- Kevin Max
