Seattle, WA…January 15, 2008…The newest addition to to Tooth & Nail
Records hails from a rural farming community in Minnesota where the
three home-schooled siblings developed their undeniable rock sound,
which debuts February 26th on the self-titled release.
Children 18:3 is comprised of siblings David (lead vocals, songwriter, guitar), Seth (drums) and Lee Marie (bass, vocals). The combination of male and female vocals along with their unmatched determination is a throw back to the beginnings of Tooth&Nail punk and rock n' roll. The band name is derived from Matthew 18:3, "And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
The band stands by their inspiration from God, knowing there is no limit to what can be accomplished.
"There is a lot of creativity in heaven, and we just have to ask for it," shares songwriter David. "I think it is our responsibility as Christians to become broken and seek first the Kingdom of God and all other things including art will be added."
The band's sound and lyrics stem from this sought after creativity striving to remain genuine in their faith and to confront complacency.
The CD's opener "All My Balloons" visibly addresses this subject. Oh so sucker for the sugar substitute and artificial flavoring. Small wonder I felt so safe inside nothing more than a smoke screen and masquerade…but outside a car bomb is ticking. The first rock single, "You Know We're All So Fond of Dying," has catapulted to the top coming out of the gates as the most added single the first week of the year. Other standout tracks include "Mock the Music," "LCM," and "Homemade Valentine."
Ready to share their guitar crunch, fast driving beats and male- female vocal exchanges on stage, Children 13:8 will be a part of the 5for5 tour this spring featuring five bands for $5. Bands highlighted on the tour will be The Send, Dizmas, A Dream Too Late and Cayerio. For tour dates and info visit the http:// www.myspace.com/5for5tour .
