Earlier Thursday afternoon, Relient K celebrated the 15-year anniversary of the release of The Creepy EP, which had a Halloween themed album cover, but not much else related to the spooky holiday. The band is currently on tour with Switchfoot on their Looking For America Tour (who also, coincidentally, surprised fans with the release of a new live album last Friday), and have been playing select new Halloween songs for fans. Right around midnight into Friday the 28th, Relient K revealed the surprise release of a brand new EP, appropriately titled, The Creepier EP...er.
"NEW MUSIC OUT NOW! THIS IS TIME SENSITIVE HERE PPL!!!" the band announced via Instagram. "A note from Matt T - My friend John Suthyaraj Sumitra had been encouraging me (Relient K) to do a Halloween album for quite some time. One Halloween, I opened up for Owl City at Adam Young's high school Alma Mater. I wrote 'Halloween in Owatonna' for the occasion. Shortly before this fall tour, I decided that whipping up a few more would be fun. We recorded these songs on a live sound stage, and I overdubbed my vocals before soundcheck in Silver Springs, MD. Yum."
Grab all three songs on iTunes now here for just $2.99: iTunes
