Nashville, Tenn. (January 27, 2017) — All Is Not Lost, the sophomore release from The Brilliance is available now, and critics are calling it "the album you need to hear in 2017."
The duo, comprised of David Gungor and John Arndt, is seeking to share a timely message of understanding, with lyrics eliciting love and unity throughout the 11-track offering.

“We’re looking forward to sharing these new songs because we are in a season when, no matter what our political opinions or cultural biases, we all need to be reminded that ‘All Is Not Lost,'" David said. "We need to remember to see The Divine in ‘the other,’ to offer kindness and curiosity."

Critics are praising the duo for "shining a spotlight on cultural injustices," saying the album's content is "important" while also calling the release "beautiful" for its poetic lyrics and intricate string arrangements.

Here's more of what critics are saying about All Is Not Lost:

"The album you need to hear in 2017...(it) isn't just beautiful, it's important." - Christian Today

"The Brilliance shine brightly...for their hopeful, poetic lyrics and beautiful melodies." - CCM Magazine

"These songs will certainly connect with listeners and showcase the multi-talented band's trademark balance of vocal tenderness, lyrical intensity, beautiful and stirring musical arrangements and, above all, songs with a sense of hope and inspiration. This is my first can't-miss release of the year and sure to be one of my top worship albums of the year." - NewReleaseToday

“Enter New York based worship group The Brilliance, whose fresh, liturgical approach is helping to re-write the landscape of relevant, modern worship music.” - Worship Musician

“This is a raw and intimate work, shining a spotlight on cultural injustices and lamenting the fact that polite people would rather not acknowledge them…The Brilliance are to be commended for crafting piercing poetry and stimulating music…”  - Worship Leader

"David and John show no hesitation with All Is Not Lost, perfectly arranging each and every song into a bigger picture. With amazing melodies, impactful lyrics, and deep themes, The Brilliance goes far beyond all expectations." - The Christian Beat

"For those who are tired of the same-old worship clicks, they will treasure the Brilliance for their creativity, their ingenuity, and their Biblically informed words." - Hallels

In step with the heart of the album, Gungor recently performed the band's current single "See The Love" alongside Charity: Water CEO Scott Harrison at the organization's annual fundraiser, which also featured Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons). The event raised more than $3 million to help provide clean water for those in need.

About The Brilliance
New York-based liturgical band The Brilliance believes that art — in any form — is meant to be savored, experienced and relished. Composed of David Gungor and John Arndt, The Brilliance craft music with this belief in mind, giving listeners time and space to fully soak in the beauty that lies in every lyric and sonic nuance. The duo goes way back, having known each other since childhood and having played together in a variety of bands. Their critically-acclaimed Integrity Music debut, Brother, was a peacemaking opus that introduced the duo’s eloquent use of minimalism in the vein of Sufjan Stevens and Philip Glass to an audience beyond their faithful legion of fans who followed them during their years as an independent band. Worship Leader Magazine named the band's label debut their No. 1 album pick in 2015. Their second label release All Is Not Lost is available now.
