NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Let The Light In, the BEC Recordings debut from pop/rock veterans Ashes Remain, landed at #1 on iTunes' Christian & Gospel Top Albums chart following its October 27 release. The critically-lauded project also debuted at #11 on Billboard’s coveted "breaking and entering" Heatseekers chart and at #3 on Nielsen SoundScan's Christian Rock/Alternative chart.
Produced by 7eventh Time Down frontman Mikey Howard, with lead Christian AC/Hot AC/CHR single “All of Me” produced by GRAMMY®-winner Seth Mosley and Mike “X” O’Connor, Let The Light In heralds Ashes Remain’s highly-anticipated return to the studio following a six-year recording hiatus. The album features 10 tracks, from driving rock anthems to pop ballads, showcasing the sonic diversity long synonymous with the acclaimed group.
“It’s been six years since we’ve released an album, so we had no idea what to expect,” said Ashes Remain co-founder and lead vocalist Josh Smith. “We were honestly blown away to see Let The Light In debut at #1. It was a first for us and a true testament to our fans! Ashes Remain listeners are the most devoted, supportive and loving fans a band could ask for.”
The official lyric video for the project’s lead Christian Rock single "Rise"— a guitar-driven anthem capturing the band’s harder-edged core— has reached nearly 500,000 YouTube views. Additional highlights of Let The Light In include “Captain,” which tackles addiction and points to the ultimate freedom found in Christ; “Six Feet Down,” a moving tribute to the sacrifices of military personnel and first responders; and pop ballads “Follow” and “All I Need.”
BEC Recordings’ Ashes Remain has been carving a unique niche at the crossroads of pop and hard rock for more than 15 years. The Baltimore-based quintet is comprised of founding member and lead vocalist Josh Smith; co-founder Ryan Nalepa (rhythm guitar); Rob Tahan (lead guitar); Ben Kirk (drums) and Jon Hively (bass). What I’ve Become—the band's 2011 FairTrade Services breakout—featured the hit singles “On My Own,” “Unbroken” and “Come Alive” and landed on both Billboard’s Top Christian & Gospel Albums and Heatseekers charts. The group’s career discography includes three full-length releases and two EPs.
