Birthing the Miracles of God

"I foretold the former things long ago, My mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass."
- Isaiah 48:3 NIV

Sometime ago, I began seeking God about some serious concerns I had for myself and my family. I asked the Lord how I could know for sure what His will was in these matters, and how He would have me pray about them. He led me to His Word, and He gave me Scriptures that revealed some principles to me, which eventually birthed miracles that, to this day, leave me amazed each time I ponder them. I’d like to share these principles with you here in the hope that you, too, may apply them and witness God working wonders on your behalf.

Isaiah 48:3 (NIV) says: "I foretold the former things long ago, My mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass." With this verse, the Lord revealed to me that long ago, He announced promises in His Word that He expected His people to believe and claim in faith. When they did, at just the right time, He would act suddenly and explosively to bring them to pass.

Next, the Lord showed me Isaiah 48:7 (AMP), which says: "They are created now [called into being by the prophetic word]." This was God’s way of telling me that in order for me to receive the miracles He had in store for me, I had to "call them into being" by speaking out His Word and promises from my mouth. The apostle Paul gave us some valuable insight into this principle when He wrote that God "calls into being that which does not exist" (Romans 4:17 NASB), and that we, as His children, should "imitate God in everything" (Ephesians 5:1 NLT). Confessing God’s Word and promises with our mouths shows that we are in agreement with Him, and we are inviting Him to work mightily on our behalf.

Jesus said: "But as for that [seed] in the good soil, these are [the people] who, hearing the Word, hold it fast in a just (noble, virtuous) and worthy heart, and steadily bring forth fruit with patience." (Luke 8:15 AMP) Here, the Lord makes it clear that hearing God’s Word and promises is not enough; we must hold them fast in our hearts—keeping them in our thoughts and on our lips—so that we can bring forth the fruit that blesses us and glorifies God. The Lord showed me that the kind of heart that provides the "good soil" that is needed to bear fruit is a grateful heart. And He instructed me to continually thank Him in advance for the fulfillment of His promises.

I don’t believe that you are reading this message by accident today. I believe that it is the Lord’s way of telling you that He has some miracles that He wants to birth in your life, and in the lives of your loved ones. Take these principles to heart today, and ask the Lord how He would have you apply them. When you do, you can expect to see God working suddenly and mightily to bring your desires to pass!

Prayer: Lord, I believe that it is Your will to work miracles when I get into agreement with You. Show me the promises You would have me pray and stand on at this time for myself and others. Teach me how to speak Your Word out of my mouth with a holy boldness. Give me the faith and patience I need to wait for Your perfect timing. Thank You that as I follow Your lead, I will witness You working wonders on my behalf!
