To be honest, I never liked the Insyderz before. The first ska group I ever liked was the Supertones. I loved the lyrics, the catchy tunes, their dynamic live performances... everything! But then I gave Skalleluia by the Insyderz a more open-minded listen. It converted me. I became an Insyderz fan in no time. Then came Fight of My Life. Wow. This disc surely puts Five Iron to shame and is hot on the heels of the Supertones.
Lead singer, Joe Yerke experiments with more singing and less growling on this disc. "Jigsaw" kicks off the CD with a catchy tune using puzzles as a symbol for the life and God being the "missing piece" to complete the puzzle. "What Happened to Joe?" follows next about a new Christian whose unbeliever friends disowned & wonder "what happened" to him.
The ultimate highlight on the album is their hard-rocking ska core tune "The Hunted." Yerke returns to his signature "growls" on top of heavy metal guitar riffs. Another highlight is the next really fun track, "Game Day." A bouncy song about how God has picked us to be a player in the game of life. A situation that has Yerke singing,
This album is one of the best of the fall & I suggest ska fans of all kinds check out this successful 3rd project by the young guys of the Insyderz!
