I hate seeing good bands go. Unfortunately, only 4 short years after I started liking modern rockers, Guardian, they lose popularity as they get really good and break up. *sigh* I hate when this happens. Anyway, like Grammatrain, Guardian released a final live album for their fans on Forefront Records. It's a collection of live versions of hits from their last two studio albums Buzz and Bottle Rocket. The album was recorded in Buenos Aires and Nashville. I must ask, though-- why are a lot of live rock albums recorded in foreign countries? Bride, Grammatrain, and now Guardian have all have foreign live recordings.
The album kicks off with "Bottle Rocket," this song, just like each following one, capture the sound of any late-90s Guardian show. Lead singer Jamie Rowe's antics are included, as well as his phenomenal vocals. Guardian LIVE! is a must-have for Guardian fans, and an appropriate way of saying goodbye. Also, check out their rendition of the U2 song "Pride" included as the last song.
