Kede-r
The Mystery

Album length: 17 tracks: 57 minutes, 50 seconds
Street Date: October 23, 2001

Kede-r is comprised of Kim McMechan, David Ruis, and Rik Leaf. From Vinyard music, Kede-r's The Mystery is a new modern spin on praise music. This album is different from any other worship album that you may have heard to date.

Opening with "Is She Ready," an eerie song of funky beats and spoken words, the song makes you wonder what's in store from the rest of the album. "Find Your Way To Me," written and sung by Kim McMechan accompanied by soothing mix of drums... and synthesizers? The track's sound is reminiscent of the secular group Sneakerpimps, except with lyrics like "You are the light of my world. You are the fire that burns my cold." "Find Your Way to Me" is a love song to God.

"Listen to the Rhythm," is just that -- a soothing, thought-provoking rhythm. One of the best tracks on the album is "How I Love You So," another beautiful love song to our Father, enticing you to sing along and raise your hands towards heaven.

Kede-r's The Mystery is a very different take on worship music that some will appreciate, while leaving others standing confused. There are a few misses and a couple hits. Anything new and different gets an okay from me. Kede-r definitely brought something new to the table, it's just an acquired taste.
