Since moving to Nashville, I've had the opportunity to hear many local coffeehouse artists. A handful are outstanding, some are awful, and the majority fall somewhere in between. Enter The Worship Circle: Third Circle has that coffeehouse, "Vineyard Worship Unplugged" feel to it.
"I Don't Know" opens Enter The Worship Circle perfectly, setting the stage for the rest of the album. "How am I going to thank You if I can't get my arms around You / I know that You saved me, but I don't know how far You had to reach." "Wait On The Lord" has a sound reminiscent of an unplugged Integrity/Maranatha! song. Other highlights include the instrumental "Diddly," the passionate "You are God," and "It's My Joy." Third Circle closes with "The Passion of Your Heart," a spoken word over a guitar instrumental that comes in at the end of "It's My Joy."
Fans of Waterdeep and 100 Portraits - as well as those who like unplugged Vineyard worship - will undoubtedly love the album. However, like music of all styles, this album is not for everyone. If given the chance though, many listeners may find that the style grows on them with repeated listens. For what it is, Enter The Worship Circle: Third Circle is a great record.
