Worship God joins the company of a Collector's Series of DVD singles featuring some of your favorite artists. This time around, the fan is treated to a behind the scenes look at the life of artist Rebecca St. James and a deeper look into what makes this young twenty-five-year-old tick.
The Worship God DVD plays out a lot like tobyMac's Momentum DVD and offers three crisp and vivid music videos as the disc's main feature. In addition, 8 song clips from Rebecca's March release Worship God are included to give the listener a sample of the project before the "Audio" and "Video" features are exhausted leaving "Extras" to wrap this inside look up. A 9-image photos section introduces some new and common photos from the Worship God photo shoot. The brief, yet intriguing "My Australia" featurette offers a personal glimpse at what Rebecca's hometown of Sydney, Australia means to her in a mini guided tour of some of her favorite locations. This was one of the most enjoyable parts of the DVD but did feel a little more like a tease or a trailer for something bigger and more lengthy to come that doesn't. While it isn't so short that it seems ridiculous, I expected more of an in-depth gander at her home due to the segment's elaborate introduction. And one of the biggest surprises is that nowhere in any of the clips does Rebecca address her family which, as all her fans know, tours with her wherever she goes and serves as a big part of her ministry. Next, we're treated to a little insight about the project Worship God and how the songs came about through the "About the Songs" featurette. Finally, the project ends with behind the scenes footage from Rebecca's "Reborn" video which serves as a unique and interesting closer.
While the new Collector's Series might seem like your typical DVD bonus features without a feature presentation, these discs are for the fans and, being well-priced, serve as absolute must-haves for any enthusiast of any of these artists. While the features don't go the distance or cover as much ground as a fan might hope, it's okay. Let's just hope that the artists and record companies don't stop the digital DVD offerings with these tidbits and keep enhancing the fans' interaction with their favorite Christian artists.
