Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, INO Records' latest addition, Echoing Angels, debut this month with their release, You Alone. But the obvious question is - is their debut creative and distinctive enough to set them apart from every other contemporary worship band out there?
Starting off the ten-track album is "I Will," a rock tune with a slight tinge of southern flavor added to it. Following the opener is the title track "You Alone," an acoustic ballad of proclamation that Jesus Christ is Lord over all. Other album highlights include "Let Go," a strong, upbeat song that speaks of surrendering our lives to Christ, "Coming Back To Life," another rock-induced track with elements of orchestrated violins and harmonizing pianos, the edgy, guitar-driven "Living Inside Of Me," the reverent declaration of "Hallelujah," and "Move Me," the acoustic closer that showcases the lyrical depth of the album.
The quintet possesses qualities of both originality and uniqueness, with the latter expressed more lyrically than musically. Needless to say, Echoing Angels has enough talent to make it big with a little more work and effort in establishing a unique sound. While You Alone bears slight resemblences of Third Day and Building 429, it would make a nice addition to any worship-loving fan's collection. This band is definitely one to keep an eye out for in the future.
