The first TFK song I can remember hearing was "Look Away" during one of my favourite radio shows at the time, and as someone who is quite fond of emotional ballads, I immediately fell in love with it. Little did I know that "Look Away" could not have been a more misleading introduction to TFK's music. When I first heard the riffs of this record's title track explode out of my PC's speakers, my jaw was on the floor. Welcome to the Masquerade is the record that got me interested in heavier music and it helped pave the way for my love of Chrsitian metal. Sentimental value aside, this record is simply colossal. The bite of those opening riffs still floors me and each track exhibits an intensity that, at least to my knowledge, hasn't been matched in modern rock since.
