I'm not going to beat around the bush here -- I've long been convinced that this is one of the greatest worship albums of all time. Sure, I'll accept accusations of bias from anyone who knows how big of a Thrice fan I am, but it's still hard to be unimpressed by the accomplishment the Thrice frontman made with this solo effort. Kensrue tapped into a rare trifecta: songs that are musically interesting, doctrinally robust, and fitting for congregational worship. Only one song, the single "It's Not Enough," really wouldn't work in a church worship setting, which I can say from personal experience, having used half of the album for leading worship. The album is at the height of its powers on "Grace Alone" and "God Is Good," two songs that I would recommend every church putting into circulation; they please the ears, challenge the mind, and lift our eyes toward Christ. It's sad to know that, due to his own shifts in theology, Kensrue has distanced himself from this album (even so far as relabeling this album under The Modern Post), but the Holy Spirit was so evidently in the writing of these songs that apparently they don't need their writer's approval in order to stand the test of time and continue edifying the church.
