#95. Beloved
Failure On

Release Date: June 24, 2003

Beloved came around at the perfect time for me. I was transitioning from punk and hard rock into heavier music and Failure On provided a really good bridge. Part post-hardcore and part emo, the album filled in a lot of the blanks I had. The album was heralded by many in 2003 and still remains a favorite from this era in Solid State's history. "Aimless Endeavor" still rocks hard when the guitar and screams really kick in before the chorus. I'm not sure if the album holds up well or if the nostalgia is really strong, but either way, I'd say Failure On is certainly "top 100"-worthy. I'm only sad that the band fell apart shortly after.
