#12. Newsboys
Born Again
Release Date: June 8, 2010
 |
A new album from the Newsboys so soon? You bet. With the well-documented exit of Peter Furler and entrance of
Michael Tait on vocals last year, the Newsboys sure drew much attention from the Christian music world, and
a press for a new record was imminent. And with a preview EP for their forthcoming fourteenth (!!) released
by the band on the Winter Jam tour, Born Again's full result dropping this June couldn't interest me more...

Newsboys have been an old faithful for me since my early teens as a budding believer, and with all the growing
pains these guys have sustained, it's intriguing to watch this dc Talk-meets-Newsboys merger unfold. So far, what
I've heard sounds a bit more like new Tait band material, but as the guys continue to adjust to this new chapter
in their career, I'm more than curious to see what the full-length of Born Again will deliver...

DC Talk and Newsboys - two of the greatest bands in Christian music history. Now Michael Tait has taken over
as lead singer, Duncan, Jeff and Jody are still rocking, and Peter Furler is behind the writing,
only good things can come out. If you haven't checked their Facebook and heard the new musc already,
go do it now. You won't be disappointed.

There was much disbelief when rumors about Tait becoming the next lead singer until Peter confirmed it.
Having Tait as the lead singer may seem odd, but it’s still a release that captivates the interest whether
a fan approves or disapproves of the change.
