Woman on the screen
staring back at me
Won’t you ever love me?
Give me relief?
Sirens want my soul
I want their hands to hold
Wish their love could be real
Wish they’d love me.
Chorus:
Tired of looking down, too ashamed to look around
Love isn’t a feeling, it’s a promise
Tired of looking down, too ashamed to see the crown
Adorned on the images of God.
How come all I see
are sirens on the beach?
Scantily clad as if they had no sleeves
They wanna be respected
but don’t wanna be objectified
They just wanna be free
and also seen.
Chorus:
Tired of looking down, too ashamed to look around
Love isn’t a feeling, it’s a promise
Tired of looking down, too ashamed to see the crown
Fall from the images of God.
Wish I could be married
then I might not fall
Wish I could be in love with someone
who’ll love me til they’re gone
Am I the kind of person
who will make it to the end?
Stuck living inside the walls of Corinth
Keeping my eyes on the crown?
Tired of looking down.
