You are the lighthouse when I’m lost at sea / You are a language that I’m trying to speak
/ You are the taste that keeps me thirsting / You are the courage, running through my veins / You are
the compass, pointing to a better way / You are a whisper, beckoning me // H-o-p-e, is rising / H-o-p-e,
is on the move / In the air and on the ground, in my head and all around / H-o-p-e, is rising // You are
infectious, You’re spreading through me / You are the melody that I want to sing / You are the tempo
beating within my chest / It is rising, it is rising / It is rising up

Behind the Song:'Joy is a good writer, and this was my first writing experience with her. We talked about life and the things we
were experiencing. I had my guitar, and Joy was at the piano, and we started with this notion that “Hope is
rising / Hope is on the move.” Then we started structuring the rest of the song around that. We wanted to
illustrate God in a different way, with metaphors, analogies, imagery. That’s the beauty of a good story, like
a good book that takes you someplace. You can see it. You can feel it. You can smell it. It pulls you in
because you can picture those things. That’s what we did, trying to come up with verses that would illustrate
what God is like in everyday life.' - Shawn
