I was born to worship You
I was born to worship You oh God
I love everything about You
I was born to give You praise
through my Youth and my old age
oh God, I love everything about You
I bow at Your feet
I lay down my dreams
And give You this offering
All glory to the risen King
Who took three nails to set me free
You died for me
You’re the one who took my shape
Who lifts my head and heals my pain
You turned my tears into Your song
Now I know where I belong
I bow at Your feet
I lay down my dreams
And give You this offering
All glory to the risen King
Who took three nails to set me free
You died for me
Your mercy everyday brand new
Is now the song that I sing to
I live for You
I’ll sing it in my streets, I’ll sing it in my church
I’ll sing it out loud until it hurts
All glory to the risen King
Who took three nails to set me free
You died for me
Your mercy everyday brand new
Is now the song that I sing to
I live for You
Behind the Song:"This is the newest song on the album. Last year I got to spend two months leading worship in South Chicago, which was a luxury for 2 reasons. I got to sleep in my own bed in Rockford Illinois, and I made friendships that will last a lifetime, I hope. This congregation of 2000 that met in a high school auditorium taught me a thing or two about the true meaning of worship. I have never felt so comfortable being myself, and so loved by church people in all of my life. These people knew what hard times were and they worshipped with all of their heart in the center of their circumstances. So of course I stayed with them as long as I could! The heart of this song popped out of me in the middle of a "spontaneous" bluesy feel worship. I will never forget the faces when we all started screaming "I'll sing it in my streets, I'll sing it in my church, I'll sing it out loud until it hurts" over and over! My mouth seriously hurt from smiling so big after that worship set! So here's to you Chicago, you're my title track, "Born To Worship"." - Sarah Kelly
