#18. Swimming with Dolphins
Water Colours

Having a positive affiliation with Owl City (and subsequently signing to Tooth & Nail Records) can really only bring good things for Austin Tofte. Water Colours will most likely be one of top electronic albums of 2011.

Actually, I'd never heard of this artist until I spotted the intriguing name Swimming with Dolphins on our upcoming releases page. So I hopped over to their MySpace and gave it a listen. There's a Daft Punk meets Owl City vibe I'm hearing, and I like it. Electronic and synthpop lovers should add this debut to their list of new 2011 releases to check out.

Believe the hype. Swimming with Dolphins’s debut might just rival its former member’s more famous project. Following the exit of Owl City frontman Adam Young, the group’s only remaining member, Austin Tofte, has taken the band and made it his own. Promising a collection of feel-good techno-pop songs, Swimming with Dolphin’s release will be nothing short of awesome.

Much of the success of Swimming With Dolphins (AKA Austin Tofte) will depend on how much he sounds like Owl City. If he can chart enough of his own course, Water Colours could be a really good album.
