Heaven knows that George Lucas'
Star Wars prequels were sort of a hot mess. By the time he made the third prequel,
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, most of the movie was actors standing in front of green screens. Still, of the three prequels,
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is the best, and it gives us some truly epic lightsaber fight scenes, including the unforgettable showdown between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. There's also some real emotional weight seeing Anakin turn to the Dark Side and the Jedi being defeated (imagine how much better the movie would have been with quality direction and dialog!) Oh, and fun-fact for any of you longtime JFH followers. Remember my pet guinea pig, Chewie? (Who has graced a JFH t-shirt design, buttons, and even appeared in the short-lived webisode series "The Hideout") Amy and I bought him at the pet shop the weekend
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith came out... which earned him the name Chewie because of Chewbacca!
"You were the chosen one!!"
Honorable Mentions: Batman Begins. Christopher Nolan's Batman debut is a game-changer, and it was tough not to pick it as tops for 2005.
The Incredibles was also a pretty amazing Pixar installment and a highlight of 2005.
