Strong Christian Overtones cover
09. On Par
Album: Strong Christian Overtones
Artist: Jeremy Shorter

Verse 1
For years we were all fighting
Taking our frustrations
Out on each other
And tearing down relations

We still are not together
But at least we’re not apart
We all believe in Jesus
We have HIM in our heart
(Come on!)

Chorus
We’re on par – knowing it is true that Christ is soon returning
We’re on par!
We’re on par – for the prize HE set before us. We’re not gonna stop there.
We’re on par!

Verse 2
HE is coming back for
The spotless church that we’re not
Though we are not ready
The unity is being sought

Feelings bruise too easy
Our spirits, not enough
A shame we put our stock in
All this worldly stuff
(Gone…!)

Chorus

Bridge
Think about it now… What if we all tried…?
With a little practice
We could all be tied
A birdie is the next goal
An eagle might be fun
But we know we must strive
For the hole in one!

Chorus
