There are many who attack me Lord how my foes increase
They say there is no help for him in God
They scream in every whisper their howlings never cease
I can't escape the weight of my own thoughts Chorus 1

(But)You God are a shield around me. My glory and the One who lifts my head
I cry out toward Your holy mountain. You answer me and in that I can rest

Arise Lord and defend me. Deliver me my God
Let worries melt like wax before the heat
Remind me of Your promises. They're faithful and they're true
Cast down my enemies and break their teeth

From the Lord comes my deliverance
He will see me through the dawn
Pour Your blessings on your people
Be our song

I lie down and I rise up through no strength of my own
I wake because the Lord sustains my life
Into fear the thousands that wage war on my soul
Who take their stand against on every side
