I woke up to the sound
Of seven sages singing
Far away, but loud
Opened up the blinds
And up from the ground
The pyreflies were streaming
And for whatever reason
I went numb

Left my bed behind
And floated to the ceiling
Popcorn pressed against
A pressured tearing feeling
And I rose
Through attic and through shingle
I saw Daniel's house and Rossview
And countless floating people

Now in space
No sound
Kaleidoscopic vision
It was cool, not cold
An early Autumn breeze
And there were stars and stones
Nebulas and creatures
Ineffable in feature
All around
And a beacon in the center pulling down

And suddenly I found myself
Thrashing in a crowd
Declaring my confusion
Until customs kicks me out
Then neighborhood on neighborhood
Each epoch its own town
And something in the center
It was far away but loud
