Moving off to college
The blue mustang, the nerves, the new lip ring
I remember the first night
Smiling so hard I couldn't sleep
I met a new Daniel on the back stoop
Shared a billion Black & Mild's
And mysteries
As Right Away, Great Captain
Soundtracked the shores of memory

Some chapters deserve closing
But sometimes it's just nice to start anew
With no anger, just wonder
Like you can hardly wait for what comes through

Humanity and the Cosmos
My first class in that basement blackboard room
It was a wrecking ball and an altar
Where my certainty became an empty tomb

Some chapters deserve closing
But sometimes it's just nice to start anew
With no anger, just wonder
Like you can hardly wait for what comes through
Like you can hardly wait for what comes through
