Struck by lightning once
You conceived a flame
Now every waking second
I’m waiting for the blaze
But is it ever going to come?
What am I supposed to do
When everything I could become is overdue?
Out of frustration
Comes a patient man
I’m on the verge of something
The end of what you began
But is it ever...
Just the smallest spark
It set my world on fire
I see you in my dreams...

Behind the Song:"My wife Tracy gave birth to our first child, Liam James, at the end of March 2003. He came a week late, and the agony and suspense of waiting for the birth, for the realization of all we'd hoped and planned for nine long months, was almost too much to bear. The idea of being pregnant but overdue, of waiting, struck me as something we as Christians experience in our walk with God. We are all pregnant with possibility, and we long for our true-selves to be birthed and for us to come into our inheritance in God. Yet He often makes us wait until He knows we are truly prepared. This is definitely something I've had to go through in my spiritual life recently. This song is based on real experience and is very personal and special for me. I'm very glad it made it onto the record." - John Ellis (
