Is there any metal album opener more incredible than the opening title track on Extol's Undeceived? I highly doubt it. While already a prolific and extremely talented band, the godfathers of Christian technical death metal truly came into their own with this album. It's aggressive, technical, bombastic, and lyrically rich in a way that so many bands after them have only dreamed of emulating. In my book, Extol is only other band comparable to Living Sacrifice in terms of their influence on the Christian metal scene, and it all started for the most part with Undeceived.
