Conceived In Fire

Release Date: September 24, 2002

Living Sacrifice will always hold a special place in my heart when it comes to metal music. Conceived In Fire was the first metal album that I fell in love with and started my affinity for heavy music in general. I had tried to get into metal because of a friend earlier, but it just didn't land. However, something about Conceived In Fire finally made it stick. The first three tracks in particular are absolutely fantastic -- with "Symbiotic" easily being the favorite. The album took what LS started on Reborn and added some elements from their early days with death metal blast beats abounding. Reborn, The Hammering Process, and The Infinite Order are often debated as the best of Living Sacrifice's discography, but Conceived In Fire will always lead the pack, in my opinion. If you're a younger metal fan who has never heard this album, I can't recommend it enough. It's possibly my favorite metal album of all time.
