#3. Kevin Max
Broken Temples
Release Date: March 10, 2015

This album ranked high on my personal list, and I will be hotly anticipating March 10th. While "Infinite" and "Light Me Up" are a small sample size for preview purposes, I have a feeling that Broken Temples will be a landmark CCM pop release in 2015, and that's something we've needed for a long time.

In an interview last year, Kevin Max talked to us about leaving Audio Adrenaline to pursue his own creative direction. The result is Broken Temples, an album promising a variety of sounds and aiming for a higher level of creative Christian songwriting. Sounds like a good change to me!

K-Max is a bit enigmatic, but with that comes the chance for some really great tunes. When Kevin broke the news on JFH that he was leaving Audio Adrenaline, he also informed us about the solo album he was going to release with many of the unused Audio A songs. The early clips have Broken Temples looking like it could be some of Kevin's best work. This is surely one of the albums I'm most excited to hear all year.

There is much that could be said about Audio A and Max parting ways (amicably we're told), but the best thing I can say about it is that the band missed out on some top-notch songs that Max has written lately. "Infinite" and "Light Me Up" are great tunes that mix artistry and pop songwriting admirably, and Broken Temples (a great album title) could be the best album of the year come December.

Of the two singles, "Infinite" sounds like the strange yet catchy concoction that would happen if Kevin tried his hand at CCM, while "Light Me Up" sounds like a continuation of the sound from Kings & Queens. It's hard to guess what the rest of Broken Temples will sound like, but one thing is for sure: we can expect the unexpected with Kevin Max.

Many forget that Kevin Max was the most dominant vocals on dc Talk's last release, Supernatural. He was able to put himself back on the map as the new lead singer of Audio Adrenaline and the airwaves consumed Kings & Queens with hits like the title track. Unfortunately, this did not work out and as a solo artist once again, Kevin could deliver one of his most memorable releases in years.
