#2. Paper Route
untitled
Release Date: Sometime 2016

These guys really know how to draw you in with their infectious hooks, clever songwriting, and complete avoidance of genre stereotypes. To say that I am anxious to hear what these guys have cooked up would be an understatement. If it's anything like "Zhivago," it's going to be catchy, artistic, and maybe a little obscure.

Ok, so no Paper Route record in 2015. Our impatience is growing at quick rate. Absence feels like such a long time ago, but ever since the band broke through with The Peace of Wild Things and its accessible blend of ethereal rock, we've been thirsty for more, and last March's "Zhivago" has merely whetted our appetite.

The long-rumored album is coming… sometime. The boys in Paper Route have teased us long and hard with rumors, the single "Zhivago," the new record label, and their Facebook banner saying "Early 2016 New Music." But we still don't have a release date. But it'll come! I know it'll come. It must! ....Right?

These guys are generally pretty quiet, and they release albums years apart from each other. But they never disappoint. It's good news to know that they're hitting the scene again this year...

Paper Route has the unique ability to make electronic instruments and textures sound as warm and intimate as an acoustic guitar or a violin. Their last album, The Peace Of Wild Things, was a textbook example of how to construct a heartfelt and epic album in the computer age. Don't fear the sound effects, but use them wisely.
