Look Up Child

It only took one fantastic album, but Daigle has quickly become a favorite. At the time of this writing her new single “You Say” is in heavy rotation in my household, leaving me expecting great things from her upcoming release. September 7th cannot come soon enough!

I still maintain that Lauren Daigle’s debut album was the best album of that year, even if I couldn’t get any of my fellow JFH colleagues to agree with me. A million + albums sold later, I think the record buying (or “listening”) public agreed with me. How Can It Be had more great songs on it than many artists put out in their whole careers. Look Up Child (which is a terrific album title) is off to a great start with “You Say,” a wonderful, slow-build torch song of identity. The Adele comparisons will never really go away (and probably what endeared her to audiences in the first place), but Daigle is a true artist in her own right, and when you meld that powerhouse voice to a terrific tune and true grit, you have a winning recipe every time.
