I’ve been prayin’ for rain for so long for so long
I’ve been Prayin’ for Rain but it an’t come along
My fields have gone dry still crops continue to die
But my hope is in you and I know you’ll see me thru
Lord…let it rain….let it rain…let it rain…let it rain on me

I’m blessed with a wife that feeds my soul
It took a while to find the one that makes me whole
She showers me with love with the warmth of her smile
I thirst for her touch even when it’s been a while
So Let it rain…let it rain….let it rain… let it rain on me

Like my father before me he loved and worked the land
Like my father before me he gave it all that he had
He taught me all that I know and I know he taught me well
He said Boy, If your crops fail get on your knees and say a prayer
So lord…let it rain….let it rain…..let it rain…. Let it rain…let it rain….let it rain. Let it rain let it rain….on me
After four years of drought please forgive me for my doubt but I know you’ll work it out
So lord…let it rain….let it rain…..let it rain…. Let it rain…let it rain….let it rain. Let it rain let it rain….on me
lord…when it rains, when it rains, let it rain on me, Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain. Let it rain let it rain….on me
