Top 15 One-Album Wonders

As music fans, we hear a lot of new music all the time from promising new artists. Some national debut albums really leave a mark on us, getting us pumped for the artist's career ahead. Sadly, some of these artists never even make it to album number two before they stop making music, break up, or just disappear.

This list is a countdown of our top 15 "One-Album Wonders" -- bands that released just one album before disappearing from the map for one reason or another -- leaving us to wonder what could have been with album number 2.

#3. And Then There Were None
Who Speaks For Planet Earth

Release Year: 2009

And Then There Were None were Tooth & Nail Records' premiere indietronica band in 2009. Their label debut Who Speaks for Planet Earth? stood out in a big way that year, and fueled by instantaneously catchy beats and synth work, they made JFH's staff average top ten list. But the hype didn't translate to a sophomore effort; either due to lukewarm sales, an ever-changing lineup, or their erratic creative direction (they were a metalcore band prior to being signed), ATTWN didn't last beyond one album on T&N.

With the industry now saturated with EDM-inspired genres, it's plausible that a band like ATTWN could have stuck around longer if they hadn't peaked so early. Some of the band's members went on to form the electro-pop project Young London, whose discography is decidedly a lot less interesting than anything ATTWN released. These facts notwithstanding, Who Speaks for Planet Earth? is still a fun release that holds up well.
