#14. Aaron Gillespie
Anthem Song
Release Date: March 8, 2011
|
From parting with Underoath to making waves with The Almost, Gillespie keeps himself in the news... as well as quite busy. From the sound of "We Were Made For You," the worship-based Anthem Song looks to be a noteworthy project for the multi-instrumentalist...

Former Underoath drummer, frontman and founder of The Almost, and now worship leader? Is there anything Aaron Gillespie can't do? He's been known for great acoustic performances and worshipful moments in his shows, so it's only natural that it would finally evolve into a new project for this multi-faceted artist.

Aaron Gillespie appears to be one of those artists who brings a level of excellence to whatever he is associated with. His solo project should be one of the most anticipated worship albums of the year.

I've had the first single from this project, "We Were Made For You," on repeat for weeks now. If that track is any good indication of the entire record, this could turn out to be one awesome worship album…

I'm really anticipating a look into what Aaron will do own his own. After leaving Underoath behind and taking time off from The Almost for this solo album, I'm hoping Aaron brings something new and exciting to the table. This should be a solid release from one of the most popular names in the Christian rock community.

Some people say he's the former drummer for Underoath. Others say he's the frontman for indie rock sensation The Almost. Actually, they are both correct and Aaron Gillespie now ventures into a third category: solo artist. Many of the track titles on his new record are anything but spiritually subtle and it will be refreshing to hear the "worship" side of Aaron's creativity.

It should be interesting to see what the former drummer of a hardcore band and frontman of a rock band will be able to do with a worship album.
